Earrings inspired by the green gastropod shells (a rare coloration in snails) of the carnivorous snail species Edentulina that occurs in Southeast Africa. The orange tourmalines originate from Mozambique that belongs to the distribution area of these snails. The earrings are composed of two interconnected moveable elements: above, a larger snail shell, and below, a tourmaline that is asymmetrically set by three smaller shells. The intermediate ball mechanism of white gold is mounted off-center to counterbalance the tourmaline’s long axis.

Earrings with nature casts of the shell of a sea snail Tenagodus obtusus that is endemic to the Mediterranean and north-western Atlantic. Typical for the species is the spirally coiled shell with separated whorls and an opening along its longitudinal axis. This shape is the result of the natural lifestyle in a fixed position within a sponge, sessile salt-water animal that slowly grows in unpredictable directions. To keep its access to the outside of the sponge, the Tenagodus adapts the growth of its shell to that of the host sponge. The nature casts are covered with white vitreous enamel and painted gold ornaments. The suspension element is a diamond-set Cardan joint.
