Pendant with a phantom amethyst that developed inside a sceptre quartz (a quartz crystal on which a second, younger crystal formed in the direction of the main axis and thus created the eponymous sceptre shape). The fine lines visible in the lower part of the crystal are ingrown rutile crystals. The shaft of the sceptre is concealed within a structure inspired by South American temple architecture, that is made of enamelled and gold-painted plates and ends with a toucan head. The toucan‘s plumage is of partially oxidized yellow and white gold, and his eyes are cut from rock crystal and underlaid with cobalt blue enameled fine silver lenses. With its open beak, in which a green enameled tongue is visible, the toucan grasps a purple enameled earthworm, which serves as a suspension loop.
